Aboriginal Canada Portal http://www.aboriginalcanada.gc.ca/ August 2000 – Present The Aboriginal Canada Portal (ACP) is a bilingual Web site that represents the "Aboriginal Peoples" cluster under the Canadians Gateway, on the Canada Site (canada.gc.ca). It is part of the GOL initiative. The ACP Web site contains over 600 Web content pages and more than 16,000 external links. The site was built and is managed using an established publishing, content and metadata management tool developed entirely by Alika. The ACP is a single window to Canadian Aboriginal on-line resources, contacts, information, and government programs and services. The portal offers ease of access and navigation to listings of Aboriginal associations, businesses, organizations, bands, communities, groups, news and peoples. The Aboriginal Canada Portal is a powerful tool to connect together Aboriginal peoples from all across Canada. Alika has also participated in several initiatives associated with the Aboriginal Canada Portal Web site, including: Aboriginal Connectivity in Canada, the National Forum on Connecting Indigenous Peoples in Canada, the Job Centre Tool and the Virtual Aboriginal Trade Show (VATS). Business Start-Up Assistant http://bsa.cbsc.org/ January 2000 – Present The Business Start-Up Assistant (BSA) is a bilingual product developed and managed by the Canada Business Service Centres. It combines business start-up information from all levels of government, the community and many other sources, as well as practical resources such as business registration forms. Information is organized by topics such as market research, financing, taxation, business planning, and many others – all critical to starting a new business. The Business Start-Up Assistant Web site contains over 450 Web content pages and more than 6,000 unique external links. Part of the GOL initiative, the BSA can be accessed via the "Business Gateway", on the Canada Site (canada.gc.ca). Canadian Business Map http://commercecan.ic.gc.ca/ October 2002 – Present The Canadian Business Map Web site is a bilingual Internet portal which provides quick and seamless access to international, national, provincial, territorial and municipal business information. The goals of the Web site are to provide a uniformly applied navigation aid for retrieving business information from multiple Canadian jurisdictions; to profile Canadian and international associations by industry sector; to present Canadian and international on-line company directories by industry sector; to enable a search capability for Canadian and international business resources referenced on the Industry Canada Strategis Web site; and to identify major Canadian mapping resources. The Canadian Business Map Web site contains close to 1,000 Web content pages and over 30,000 external links. Business Gateway Clusters January 2003 – December 2003 Alika Internet Technologies Inc. successfully migrated 6 of the Business Gateway Clusters, from their original technology to the Alika Portal Publishing, Links and Content Management Solution. Alika also provided the technology for both a new Internet and a new Intranet Web sites. The Business Gateway Cluster and Intranet Web sites are:
Alika worked on the installation, set-up and configuration of all the new Lotus Notes databases. We migrated the content pages and external link information for several of those bilingual Web sites, and provided technical support to those who migrated their own content. Alika addressed all the migration issues. We provided training to all the team members of the different Web sites and wrote a full documentation manual. User Polling, Survey and Report Generating Tool October 2003 – March 2004 Alika has developed and implemented a customized quick survey poll, full survey and report-generating tool that was used on the following sites:
The survey or polling form can be embedded into any HTML page. This allows the survey or source questions to be integrated into any third party application (e.g. Cold Fusion or static HTML pages). Alika assisted with the initial set-up, including HTML coding and Javascript. We provided working reports that can be customized by the content manager. Training and documentation were provided on how to create new survey questions and custom reports, and how to manage the Lotus Notes databases. Client: Industry Canada |

Innovation Success Stories http://innovation.gc.ca/gol/innovation/interface.nsf/engdocBasic/4.4.html February 2003 – June 2003 Alika Internet Technologies developed a bilingual on-line database to showcase success stories. We designed the entire workflow, database and design elements, using Lotus Notes/Domino R5 technology. We met on a regular basis with the client to review the progress of the project. We were fully involved in all aspects of the project, and were invited to formulate our suggestions and recommendations, from the initial mock-up to the implementation of the final product. Financial Data System – Intranet February 2002 – September 2003 The Financial Data System is a Lotus Notes/Domino project that has been developed to assist managers with their financial data. The process allows for the corporate data stored in OASIS to be converted in an organized way into a Lotus Notes database. It also produces automatically generated Intranet based layered reports that can be viewed in an organized manner. The work included the development of an archive process for previous imports. CultureCanada.gc.ca http://culturecanada.gc.ca/ December 2001 – July 2003 CultureCanada.gc.ca is the Government of Canada's one-stop Web access to government resources on the subjects of Culture, Heritage and Recreation. This bilingual Web site seeks to deliver quick and easy access to Canadian cultural information. Part of the GOL initiative, CultureCanada.gc.ca represents the "Culture, Heritage and Recreation" cluster under the Canadians Gateway, on the Canada Site (canada.gc.ca). It contains over 6,000 external links. Alika Internet Technologies Inc. has assisted in designing the layout, workflow, publishing process and Web-based tools for the Culture Canada Web site, on a Lotus Notes/Domino platform. We provided technical support to their content team and designed custom elements for them, such as a feedback application and a mechanism to display random information on the homepage, every time the page is loaded.
