About Us

Alika is a leading edge and innovative information management and technology company specializing in:

  • development of Internet-based products, portals, content management solutions, Government On-Line applications, data publishing systems, and Web sites;
  • content management, subject analysis, research and metadata;
  • writing;
  • translation.

Based in Ottawa, Alika Internet Technologies Inc. was incorporated in the province of Ontario on April 17, 2001.

Clients

We have contacts with several government departments, agencies and organizations such as Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC), Industry Canada (IC), the Canada Business Service Centres (CBSC), the Business Gateway, Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC), the Innovation Policy Branch and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Alika can leverage our experience with government processes, standards and partnerships to initiate shared application development, interdepartmental analysis, design discussions, and requirements analysis.

Alika's current clients also include private sector companies such as Northern Micro and Provance Technologies Inc.

Awards

Members of Alika Internet Technologies have received the following prestigious awards in recognition for their work:

Public Service Award of Excellence (2002) Public Service Award of Excellence (2002)

Members of Alika Internet Technologies Inc. received the "Public Service Award of Excellence" for their contribution to the development of the Aboriginal Canada Portal. Introduced in 1985 and bestowed annually, the Award of Excellence honours the best among all recipients of formal department recognition awards.

  Agatha Bystram Award for Leadership in Information Management (2001)

Managers of the Business Start-Up Assistant at Industry Canada received the Council of Federal Libraries' 2001 Agatha Bystram Award for Leadership in Information Management in the federal public service. The Business Start-Up Assistant's technical platform was designed and developed by Alika Internet Technologies.

GTEC Distinction Awards GTEC Distinction Awards (2001)

The GTEC Distinction Awards Program is an Annual Celebration of Excellence in Public Sector Management of Information and Technology. In 2001 Alika Internet Technologies participated in the development of two award-winning projects:

I. Aboriginal Canada Portal – Bronze Medalist

Members of Alika Internet Technologies Inc. received a bronze medal at the 2001 GTEC Distinction Awards for the Aboriginal Canada Portal project, in the category "Innovation Partnerships and Alliance for Public Service Delivery."

II. Business Start-Up Assistant – Bronze Medalist

The Business Start-Up Assistant project, managed by the Canada Business Service Centres, Industry Canada, received a bronze medal at the 2001 GTEC Distinction Awards, in the category "Serving Canadians Better Through IM/IT Innovations, Improving Service Delivery to Citizens and Business."

Deputy Ministers' Outstanding Achievement Award Deputy Ministers' Outstanding Achievement Award (2000 – 2001)

Members of Alika Internet Technologies Inc. received the Deputy Ministers' Outstanding Achievement Award (2000–2001) in recognition of excellence for their involvement with the Aboriginal Canada Portal Web site.
